Educational Talent Search “Second Chance” (ETSSC) is an academic outreach program designed to identify qualified youth with potential for education at the postsecondary level and encourage them to complete secondary school and undertake a program of postsecondary education. The program is also responsible for publicizing the availability of financial aid for persons who pursue postsecondary education; and encourage persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary level to enter or reenter and complete these programs.

CEDA through our Community Service Block Grant offers scholarships for post-secondary education at an accredited institution of higher education or vocational training in the State of Illinois for the 2014-2015 academic year. *Award must be used for the 2014 fall semester/quarter.
Scholarships range from $500-$3,000 to income-eligible residents of suburban Cook County who demonstrate academic achievement, career potential and educational motivation. Displaced and under employed workers, high school graduates (or equivalent), aspiring to higher education and employment are invited to apply.
Candidates must submit a complete scholarship application with all required documents and provide proof of residency and income eligibility (see chart). The application will be available on-line starting April 30, 2014 at www.cedaorg.net. The application deadline is Friday, June 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Additional documentation may be required.
