Words by CEDA Admin

On Monday, April 14, 2025, the Oak Park WIC office had the pleasure of hosting Representative LaShawn Ford for a clinic visit. Also in attendance were CEDA CEO Harold Rice, Jr, WIC/FCM Director Sarah Sullivan, CEDA VP of Programs and Policy Troy O’Quin, and Brendan Kitt and Amy Kadens from the MOD Collective (a diaper assistance program).
The Oak Park WIC staff gave Rep. Ford a tour of the clinic and explained the impact of WIC to the community. Staff discussed the importance of providing nutrition education, breastfeeding education, and access to nutritious foods for pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children. Thank you to Oak Park staff for hosting this event and Supervisor Caroline Kielma for providing a wonderful tour and explanation of WIC.
The CEDA Weatherization van was also on site to give Rep. Ford a chance to see and learn more about the Weatherization program as well as the other CEDA programs the community has access to.
We thank Representative LaShawn for taking the time to come and learn more about CEDA and its wonderful programs.
