David Gates' 25th Anniversary with CEDA!

I would like to take a moment to recognize David Gates for his long-time tenure with CEDA and many contributions to Weatherization! Few people have reached this milestone at CEDA or in Weatherization. While I have only had an opportunity to know David since 2018, I can attest to his commitment beyond just his tenure, his tenacity, and his strength of character.
David is a tremendous team player, always willing to help out and jump in; whether it is in the middle of the night at a multi-family building, or to step up to speak at an event, or simply to help the deliver on a deadline. David has also supported the development of multi-family capacity, not just in Illinois, but around the country. CEDA is a "go-to-agency" for Multi-family Weatherization in large part because of David's tenure and commitment to supporting multi-family projects all over Cook County. 
David is an exceptional mentor. He has helped train and develop many multi-family team members to help along their lskills and careers. His calm-under-pressure demeanor is second to none. David's steadiness has undoubtedly helped build key relationships with partners, property owners, and members of the community. He brings a positive attitude and a great sense of humor to all situations!
It is also worth noting David gives a lot of himself outside of work, helping to deliver scholarships, events, and basketball tournaments to support the community and its youth. David serves as the Board President for Project Education Plus, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to, "enlighten youth on how to take advantage of the educational, technological, and recreational outlets in society. We also assist disadvantaged families, children, and senior citizens of Chicago’s Cabrini-Near North, Lincoln Park, Old Town, West Town, Near West, and East Garfield Park communities." Check out some of the work David is doing in his "free time" on top of being a Dad!
While it was not possible to bring us all together today to celebrate in person, I look forward to celebrating David and others' milestone anniversaries with you all soon!
