Energy Assistance


Services are available to Cook County residents who are in need of financial assistance.  Please contact one of our intake sites for more information on how to apply.

What is it?

Utility bill assistance, gas, delivered fuel, electric, and furnace repair and/or replacement services for income eligible households.  The available programs include, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), Furnace, ComEd Residential Special Hardship, and Peoples Gas Share the Warmth grants.

How does it help?

Programs are designed to assist income-eligible households with energy costs by making a payment directly to the utility company(s) on behalf of the households.

How does it work?

To be eligible, households must meet the requirements of each program, including the income guidelines.  Households must be able to provide all required supporting documentation.

With the safety and health of our clients, staff and partners in mind, we have launched a remote intake process.
Here’s how you can apply:

  3. Contact one of or Partner Intake Sites to schedule an appointment today!
